Hindi Pakhwada celebration started in our Vidyalaya on 14th September 2018. We have organised a variety of programmes. There were Kavita Padh, Nibandh lekhan, Pustak pradarshini, variety of assembly programmes, etc. On 17th September, there was an assembly programme on Munshi Premchand.  The biography and works of Munshi Premchand were presented very nicely by Varsha L S and Neville Saji of Class X.

There was an exhibition of Hindi books in the Library on 25/09/2018. All the Hindi books in the library were displayed.

Book Exhibition: Independence Day

                        A book exhibition in connection with Independence Day was there in the library. Books on freedom movement and freedom fighters were displayed on 14th to 16th of August 2018.





Reading Day- Reading Month 19th June to 18th July 2018

                    Reading Day was celebrated on 19th June 2018. Reading Month celebration was inaugurated by the Principal. The programme was anchored by Sreya V Pillai and Asin Sulthana of class IX.  There was a speech on specifying the importance of the day by Lekshmi P Chandran and Anjima of class VII. Reading pledge was taken by the whole school.  The pledge was administered by Archita Kumari Tripathy of class VII. 

A variety of programmes were there for the celebration.

Book Review in Regional Language(Malayalam): AADU JEEVITHAM by BENYAMIN was presented by Sreya V Pillai of class IX.


KNOW A SANSKRIT AUTHOR: SRI. KALIDASA. It was done by Archita of class VII.

Achsa of class VIII as Helen Keller, Serene as Alice, Nithin as Tom Sawyer, Arjun as Batman, Vineet as Sherlock Holms and Vaishakh as Luttappi.

Students of class IX presented a”KNOW THIS AUTHOR: RUSKIN BOND” and his works available in our library.

Remona Maria Babu of class X presented a programme on Gandhian thoughts.

From 17th to 19th July we have organized a Book Exhibition in collaboration with New Light Book House, Thiruvananthapuram.  It was inaugurated by the Principal        Sri. Sreekumar M N.

        On 18thJuly, it was the concluding day.  We celebrated it in a very good manner. There was a chief guest Sri. Satish Chandran, Rtd.Asst. Director, Intelligence Bureau.  It was a wonderful programme.  Welcome speech was delivered by our Principal    Sri. Sreekumar M N followed by action song by students of class VI.  The Chief Guest declared the reader of the month June2018.  Abhiraman V J of class X received prize from the chief guest.  The chief guest blessed the children and his valuable words motivated the children to read more.

Reader’s Club



A Reader’s Club meeting was conducted in the Library on 19th June 2018 i.e, on Reading Day. The club consists of 42 members from classes VIth to XIIth.  Club leaders were selected by the members.

 Vice Captains: Gouri Parvathy, X and Asin Sulthana H, IX.                                     Club members planned the activities for the year 2018-19.  Our slogan is “KNOW AS YOU GROW”.                            

Presentation of Holiday Homework

  • During library period children presented their holiday homework in a wonderful way.




     Trees play a significant part in our community and to our local wildlife as they improve and provide a number of important environmental benefits. They provide better air quality for us by filtering the airborne pollutants and by removing the atmospheric carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and places with cleaner air (places with more trees) extend people’s life force by months or even years. This impacts the organisms by contributing to the carbon cycle…

      GREEN DAY celebrated in the Vidyalaya in an environment friendly atmosphere.  Principal Sri. Sreekumar M N addressed the gathering.  Principal delivered a speech on Importance of celebrating Green Day and role of trees in the present scenario.   So many children donated their old textbooks to the juniors.



   An interactive session was there for Class XI about Library Science on 04/04/2018 and 05/04/2018.  In that session a brief description on Library and the interdisciplinary field Library Science were given.  The following points were also discussed –

  • the father of Library Science,
  • division of Universe of Knowledge,
  • Dewey Decimal Classification,
  • types of information sources,
  • scope of Library Science,
  • how to become an effective librarian,

           Use and scope of important journals like Physics for You, Chemistry Today, Biology Today, Mathematics Today, Competition Success Review, Pratiyogita Darpan, Reader’s Digest, etc were also discussed.  There was a debate on electronic media vs.  print media. Also discussed how to write book review and children told about their ambition and future plans. It was very interesting and all the children actively participated in the session.
